Planning consent for high-quality apartments in Ashtead, Surrey

Paradigm Land has successfully gained planning consent to give a new lease of life to the vacant office block that was purchased in August 2015. The Council's approval allows Ashworth House to be transformed into a maximum of 21 flats with a supplementary application to enhance the external areas and create amenity space for future occupants. 

Following an extensive and detailed design process, it was decided that 19 flats would be the optimum quantity as anymore would compromise the high-quality product Paradigm Land delivers. Within a 2 month time frame Ashworth House has already gained the required consent for the 19 unit scheme and has been stripped out ready for conversion. The redevelopment will welcome new homes into an area with a strong local economy and a low supply of housing.

Demolition begins on site at 38 Wellington street

Following the grant of planning permission for 34 residential units at 38 Wellington street, demolition of the existing building will soon be underway. John Collins, director at Paradigm Land commented "This is a significant milestone in the development of this historic site, it will deliver a highly innovative modern building, replacing the currently dilapidated theatre which has been an unviable going concern for many years. The commercial space at ground floor will provide revitalised community space that will be available for let. We have been in extensive discussions with contractors and hope to be in a position to deliver the scheme in the near future." The existing building had suffered from neglect and was condemned as hazardous earlier in the year and so demolition is absolutely necessary to ensure the site is safe.
